About Us

Indus Society for Human and Environmental Development is a non-profit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

Indus Society for Human and Environmental Development Corporation’s purpose is to address, educate, coordinate, and provide aid and relief to human and environmental development causes with special focus to rural communities in Pakistan.

We provide education by giving free lectures and slideshows, in schools, libraries, and other public venues as well as utilizing social media channels and the corporation’s website to provide facts, statistics, and other related data on humanitarian crises, current efforts, and potential solutions to tackle education, health, income, and social justice issues in rural communities of Pakistan.

Our programs include sending out ambassadors to raise social consciousness about the cause on a local and global level, and to hold fundraising events in order to provide financial and technological assistance to communities in need, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.

To maximize our impact on current efforts, we may seek to collaborate with other non-profit organizations which fall under the 501(c)(3) section of the internal revenue code and are operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.

At times, per the discretion of the board of directors, we may provide internships or volunteer opportunities which shall provide opportunities for involvement in said activities and programs in order to have a greater impact for change.

The corporation is a public charity and exempt from federal income tax under United States Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) effective January, 10, 2014. Donors can deduct contributions they make to the organization under IRC Section 170.
